High-detail work

Cabinet & Trim Refinishing

Cabinets, doors, and trim finished smooth, without the cost of replacing them.

Refinishing cabinets is the highest-detail work we do. The goal is a surface with no brush marks and no texture — which means degreasing thoroughly, scuff-sanding every face, priming for adhesion, and spraying rather than brushing wherever the piece allows.

Kitchen cabinets in particular carry years of cooking grease that ordinary cleaning won't shift, and any finish applied over it will peel at the handles and around the stove first. Degreasing is not an optional step on this job.

01What's included

How the job actually runs.

01

Label and remove

Doors, drawer fronts, and hardware taken off and labelled so everything goes back where it belongs.

02

Degrease

Every surface cleaned back — especially around handles and the range, where buildup is heaviest.

03

Scuff-sand and prime

Faces sanded for grip, then primed with an adhesion primer suited to the existing finish.

04

Spray the finish

Sprayed in controlled coats for a smooth, even surface with no brush texture.

05

Cure and rehang

Left to harden before reassembly, so the finish isn't marked the day it goes back on.

02Common questions

Cabinet & Trim Refinishing questions, answered.

Can any cabinet be refinished?

Most solid wood and MDF cabinets take a finish well. Some laminate and thermofoil surfaces don't hold a coating reliably, and if yours are in that category we'll tell you before you spend money on it.

Will my kitchen be unusable?

The cabinet boxes stay in place, so you keep your storage. Doors and drawer fronts go away to be sprayed and come back once they've cured.

How long before I can use them normally?

A sprayed finish is dry to the touch quickly but keeps hardening for a while after. We'll tell you when it's safe to use them normally and when it's fully cured.
